For over 20 years, we’ve trained aspiring beauty professionals in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and manicuring in Baytown, TX, and surrounding areas.

Our Legacy

Founded by Roberta Hector, our school offers flexible courses and discounted services to the public, fostering community and professional growth in beauty.

In 1979, Ms. Roberta traveled from Aruba to Houston, TX, with dreams of becoming a cosmetologist. After graduating from Modern Beauty College, she moved her family to Baytown in the summer of 1980. She opened her first beauty shop by converting the garage of their home. Then she expanded in 1984 and opened Roberta’s Hair & Nails in the shop on Schilling St. Sometime in the late 1990’s, she briefly leased property in a business center, which marked the start of her cosmetology school. Then she moved across the street into today’s location for R&E Cosmetology School.

Ms. Roberta named her school R&E Cosmetology School in honor of the work she and her husband had done throughout the years. The school opened with much success and has since helped many aspiring entrepreneurs to realize their dreams as licensed cosmetologists, barbers, manicurists, and estheticians.

Ms. Roberta has graduated many students from the surrounding communities as far as Beaumont, Liberty, and LaPorte. She became a staple in the community and was well known and respected for her hard work and love for her students. For 41 years, Ms. Roberta tirelessly pursued her passion and devoted much of her energy to running her beauty shop and cosmetology school. Ms. Roberta made a name for herself in the community and made an impact across generations. In Baytown, almost everyone knew Ms. Roberta.

Ms Roberta’s family hopes that R&E Cosmetology continues in her same spirit of serving nearby communities and helping many more students fulfill their dreams in the various cosmetology fields, now as Baytown Beauty & Barber College.
